発明品に対して特許を認めてしまったのである。
　
ケオとオーストラリア特許庁はこの業績を称えられて、
2001年にイグ・ノーベル・テクノロジー賞を受賞。
　
それからというもの、オーストラリア特許庁のホームページには、
「車輪の特許を申請しない事」という注意書きが載せられている。
